Each year, West Essex hosts The Tournament of Bands (TOB) Chapter X Championship, which includes schools from northern and central New Jersey as well as southeastern New York. This event is a massive undertaking for WEBB and it is also our largest fundraiser of the year. This year we expecting about 30 bands, which far exceeds all other previous years. As a result, we are going to need more help than ever to make this the most successful fundraising event yet.

More on the event:
As you can imagine, a lot goes into hosting an event of this magnitude. It requires a ton of planning, lots of coordination, an army of volunteers and most of all teamwork.
Parking 30 marching bands requires a bit of perspective to figure out not only where to put all the buses and equipment trucks but where all the bands will practice. Plus, you also need to expect the unexpected—like when two schools throw you a curve and arrive through the back gate on Squire Hill Road.
Thousands of spectators arrive and we typically fill every last open parking space on campus and even on the grass behind the entire high school building.
The stands quickly fill with excited fans cheering on each band’s performance and purchasing 50/50 tickets.
The Concession Stand is packed non-stop with hungry band members, staff and spectators. Each happy customer walks away with some of the best home-cooked meals money could buy.
Candy Grams and Baked Goods sell so fast that we can hardy keep up with the demand.
The Hospitality Suite hosts all the judges and band staff with delicious food and deserts served throughout the entire competition.
In the end, this makes it all worth it…
