A GREAT Performance by the Marching Knights AND the Band Boosters!

A HUGE thank you to all the Band Parents that worked so hard this weekend and in the months leading up to today to make this year’s Tournament of Bands Chapter X Championship a huge success!  We cannot say enough to express our appreciation for all the effort put in by so many parents.  Without your help, this event – without question – is just not possible.  And, of course, a big CONGRATULATIONS to the West Essex Marching Knights, for an absolutely beautiful performance and a fantastic score of 90.95 at today’s event, placing third in Group 2 Open, an increase of 2.15 over last week’s performance at Governor Livingston!  You make us so proud every time you take the field!

High School & Middle School Join Together for Pizza and Friday Night Football

It was a great night for the Middle School Band to join the West Essex Marching Knights for a Pizza Dinner, sponsored by the West Essex Band Boosters, and then play their hearts out in the stands as the West Essex Knights beat Ferris 42-0.  More than 70 Middle School musicians came out on Friday October 20, playing along side the upperclassmen, and filling the stadium with amazing sound and energy.  It was contagious! And what a show put on by the Marching Knights, only two days away from the Tournament of Bands Chapter X Championship right here at West Essex High School!

A Clean Sweep at Governor Livingston – First Place! Best Music! Best Visual!

A breezy and overcast Fall day was the backdrop as the West Essex Marching Knights cleaned up at Governor Livingston High School on Sunday October 15, 2017. With a score of 88.8 – an 8.3 point increase from their last performance at Metuchen – the Marching Knights brought home 1st Place in Group 2 Open, plus honors for Best Music and Best Visuals!  And a special shout-out to Mr. Fabrizio, who won the “Best Director” award by popular vote of the fans…  Visit the Photos & Videos Page for a video of the winning performance!

Hard to believe, but it’s true.  The menu is set, the Ad Journal is at the printers, the trophies are ordered and the Marching Knights are READY!  All we need is YOU!

Baked Goods Needed for the TOB Home Show Bake Sale Table!

Your help is needed for our very popular Bake Sale Table at the Tournament of Bands Chapter 10 Championships on October 22. Visitors love our baked treats and the kids come off the field HUNGRY for some goodies! So we can’t disappoint!

Our Next WEBB Meeting

The Next WEBB meeting will be held on Monday October 2, 2017 at 7:00pm in the High School Cafeteria.  We have alot to cover as we get the 2017/2018 School Year into full swing!  All Band Parents are encouraged to attend.

Atlantic Coast Championship Pre-Sale Tickets – Orders Due Friday October 6, 2017

Pre-sale tickets are now available for the ACC Championships in Hershey, Pennsylvania on November 5, 2017 at Hershey Stadium!  Click here for more information and to purchase tickets. Also, we are looking into booking a coach bus for parent transportation. More to come on that!

The Marching Knights Brave the Heat, and Bring Home 2nd Place!

On a day that was more mid-Summer than Autumn, the Marching Knights gave it their all, and brought home 2nd Place in Group 2 Open, with a score of 80.5 at Metuchen High School on September 24, 2017.  With temperatures reaching over 90 degrees, the Knights gave a terrific performance, enjoying a 3.5 point jump from their previous performance at Jefferson. Next up is Governor Livingston, on Sunday October 15.  See you there!

A special note of thanks to the Pit Crew for sweating it out and getting those new props looking great on the field.  A reminder for Pit Crew volunteers to please sign up using Sign Up Genius (scroll down to our September 21 post). A Clean Sweep at the Jefferson Competition!

Congratulations to the Marching Knights for a fabulous performance at their first competition of the season at Jefferson High School on September 16, 2017!  The Knights brought home First Place in Group 2 Open, with a score of 76.95, as well as awards for Best Music and Best Visual.

What a terrific day that started off with our Kick-Off Breakfast!  A special thank you to Catherine & Steve Salvanto for their generosity in hosting the event, and to everyone who donated food and beverages! A great time had by all!
