Final Week for TOB Chapter X Championship Ad Journal Sales

This is the last week to solicit ads for the 2018 Tournament of Bands Chapter X Ad Journal!  Ad Journal Sales not only support the Home Competition, but help raise funds for all Band Programs throughout the school year.

Remember that 30% of student sales goes directly to their Band Account – a great way to help pay for reeds, valve oil, supplies, and – of course – DISNEY!

Congratulations Marching Knights on Your First Place Performance!

The Jefferson Competition marked the start of the 2018 Season, and the Marching Knights were in fine form!  Scoring a 78.0, the Knights secured First Place in their division, and their highest first show score (in 2 Open) since the 2014 season!

The Knights performed beautifully, after a busy day that started with the annual Kick-Off Breakfast, followed by several hours of rehearsal to get the show ready for competition.  And it certainly showed!

October 28 is the Championship Competition at Hershey Stadium!

Marching Band Students and Families are Invited to Attend our Annual Kick-Off Breakfast!

All Marching Band Students & Families are invited to attend our annual Marching Season Kick-Off Breakfast on Saturday September 15, 2018 at 9am. This year’s event will be held at the Fairfield Recreation Building at 221 Hollywood Avenue in Fairfield.

As always, the breakfast is supported through generous donations from our Marching Band families.  Click the icon below to access the Sign Up Genius to support this event!  Donations of checks and Shop Rite and Costco gift cards may be dropped off to Joanne Marino after rehearsals on Saturday 9/8, Tuesday 9/11 and Wednesday 9/12 at the Band Room door (or at Wednesday’s WEBB Meeting).

Help is always needed in getting props and equipment on and off the field for competitions and football games. Band Trailer Shines Almost as Much as the Marching Knights!

Lots of polishing compound, wax and elbow grease brought life back to the Band Trailer, revealing a beautiful shine not seen for quite some time. Several parents came together on Saturday August 18 to rejuvenate the red and black trailer, which required a thorough wash, polish, wax and buff to bring out the original glow.  Special thanks to Ray Stampone, Frank Matarazzo, Steve Salvanto, Andrew Marino, Anthony Fermo and Pat Freda for all the hard work!  (And the crew thanks Cathy Stampone for the hamburgers & hot dogs!)

Band Boosters Annual Parent Gathering Well Attended

About 30 parents of West Essex Band Students – many new, many existing – came together for our annual Parent Gathering on Wednesday August 15, 2018.  Those attending enjoyed great conversation, welcoming new parents to the WEBB family, and plenty of snacks and refreshments.  A very special thank you to Cathy and Ray Stampone for opening up their home for this WEBB event!

TOB Ad Journal – Support the Band Program and Earn $$$ For Disney Trip this Spring!

Now’s the time to start selling ads for the Tournament of Bands Ad Journal (TOB Chapter X Competition Program).  The Ad Journal is one of the biggest sources of funds to support the Competition, and ultimately, the many High School Band Program activities WEBB supports throughout the year.

THE 2017/2018 SCHOOL YEAR COMES TO A CLOSE WITH FINAL CONCERTS!

With the Spring Concert, held on May 30, followed by the High School & Middle School combined “Jazz Knight”, held on June 6, the curtain draws on a fantastic year of award winning performances!  Congratulations to Mr. Fabrizio and the talented students in ALL ensembles for your dedication, hard work and accomplishments throughout the school year!

The West Essex Band Boosters also congratulate this year’s recipients of the West Essex Band Boosters Scholarships. Your dedication, work ethic and contributions to the program have been greatly appreciated!

WEBB wishes all graduating seniors (and their parents) the best of luck as you embark on the next chapter of your lives! Be sure to come back to visit for concerts and performances throughout the school year!
