Congratulations to the West Essex Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Ms. McAloon and Mr. Gerbasi for a terrific performance at the Pemberton High School Competition on Saturday March 23, 2019.
2019 Indoor Percussion Ensemble
The group scored a 77.3 in their performance of Dreams and Nightmares, a 10 point jump from their previous performance at Triton High School. The score secured a 2nd place win in the Standstill class.
Next up is the final competition of the season, on Sunday April 28, 2019 at Fairlawn High School.
Congratulations to Ahren Alberto, Junior (Piano) and Gabe Ruszala, Sophomore (Trombone) for successfully auditioning for the New Jersey Association for Jazz Education (NJAJE) Region 1 Jazz Ensemble!

Ahren and Gabe will work with other talented high school students from across North Jersey performing challenging and entertaining jazz selections. They will perform under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Kunkel, Coordinator of Jazz Studies and the Director of the Montclair State University Jazz Ensemble.
As with other Area, Region & All State ensembles, auditioning for a coveted seat in this group is no small task and reflects intense dedication and talent.
Come enjoy and incredible evening of music! The concert will be held on Sunday April 7, 2019 at 4pm at Mountain Lakes High School.

Three students represented West Essex High School and Middle School at the 2019 All North Jersey Junior Region Symphonic Winds and Concert Band concert held on Sunday March 3, 2019 at Randolph High School.
Congratulations to eighth graders, Dante Ragusa (Tuba) and Gianna Lodato (Battery Percussion), as well as freshman Andrew Marino (Mallets Percussion) for terrific performances.
The Symphonic Winds, which included Gianna and Andrew, was conducted by Mr. Michael Russo of Morristown High School, while the Concert Band, including Dante, was conducted by Anthony Wayne Middle School’s Mr. Christopher DeWilde.
ALL STATE
The West Essex Band Boosters congratulates junior TJ Viola on his successful audition for the New Jersey All State Wind Ensemble! Acceptance into the New Jersey All State Band is the highest achievement for a high school musician in the state. TJ will join other highly talented musicians in a concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on February 23, 2019. Congratulations TJ!
JUNIOR REGION
WEBB also congratulates freshman Andrew Marino on his successful audition for North Jersey Junior Region Symphonic Winds! Andrew placed 1st Chair Mallets in the Symphonic Winds, receiving the highest overall mallet score in this year’s auditions. Andrew will perform in the Junior Region concert on March 3, 2019 at Randolph High School. Congratulations!
On Tuesday January 22, 2019 between 4pm and 8pm, dine at Chipotle at 749 Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell, and Chipotle will donate 33% of the proceeds to the West Essex Band Boosters!

As with Area Band announced earlier, West Essex has made a great showing in this year’s Region Band Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band.

The West Essex Band Boosters congratulate the following seven West Essex High School musicians for successfully auditioning for the North Jersey Area Band ensembles earlier this month! West Essex has made a great showing in this year’s Area Band, with 5 placements in the Wind Ensemble and 2 in the Symphonic Band.
And congratulations to all those who auditioned. Auditioning for a seat in these ensembles is no small feat and requires months of practice and preparation, as well as determination and drive. We applaud your efforts!

The West Essex High School Band Fall Concert will be held on Thursday November 29, 2018 at 7:00pm in the West Essex High School Auditorium. The Concert will feature the West Essex High School Concert Band and Symphonic Winds ensembles, under the direction of Conductor, Mr. Anthony Fabrizio. The public is invited to attend and enjoy an evening fine music, performed by highly talented High School musicians.
The concert is free of charge, and the audience is welcome to meet the student musicians immediately following the performance at a reception sponsored by the West Essex Band Boosters.
