2024 Marching Band Open House!

The West Essex Marching Knights are an organization that has maintained a tradition of excellence and outstanding achievement for many years. This past season, the Marching Knights were named the 2023 USBands New Jersey State Champions! Participation in the band will not only offer you the joy found in performing as a group but will instill in you values that will have a positive effect on the rest of your life.

The purpose of the Marching Knights is to help students grow musically and humanistically through a performing arts medium. We accomplish our goals by striving for excellence in all aspects of our organization. The Marching Knights present a Marching Band show that is musically and visually challenging, precise, and entertaining. We pride ourselves on being one of the best Marching Bands in the North East and this cannot be upheld without hard work, commitment, and teamwork from every member of the ensemble. 

Attending our Open House does not commit your student to being a member of the Marching Band. The Open House will provide all of the information that is needed regarding being a member of our esteemed program. The Open House will also provide your student with the opportunity to meet our amazing Marching Band Staff, along with the other student members.

West Essex Jazz: Lincoln Center

On Wednesday, April 10th, the West Essex Jazz Ensemble traveled to New York City to receive a jazz workshop with Alphonso Horne, a renowned trumpetist. The band also received the opportunity to observe an open rehearsal with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JALCO). While observing the rehearsal, the students were able to ask the JALCO members questions, work with the musicians and receive advice from them as they continue through their musical journey. It was a great day for the Jazz Program!
